Scott Farris


Directing credits include Bette Midler’s The Showgirl Must Go On at Caesars Palace, Véronic – Voices at Bally’s, both in Las Vegas, William Shatner’s one-man show Shatner’s World on Broadway, Light Falls starring Brian Greene, the renowned theoretical physicist at the World Science Festival New York, and many concerts at New York’s prestigious Lyrics & Lyricists series at the 92Y.  He has traveled to six continents to stage more than 20 productions of the hit musical, Chicago, in nearly a dozen languages.

Other mega-scale shows include Dinosaurs in the Wild, currently on tour in the UK, the American production of Apassionata, EFX! at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, George Lucas Super Live Adventure, a multi-media spectacular that toured Japan and was part of the original production team that created the amazing Siegfried & Roy at the Mirage Hotel.  He has done extensive work as a show doctor and has been a directing consultant for Cirque Du Soleil.

Scott began his career as an actor appearing in musicals and commercials then later moved into stage management, where he worked with some of Broadway’s finest directors on productions of Cats, Les Miserables, City of Angels, Cabaret, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Children of a Lesser God, They’re Playing Our Song, Grease, Busker Alley and Whistle Down the Wind, among others.  He is currently an associate professor of theatre at the University of Southern California, School of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, California.
